eMoSys sets the course for growth with CIM Database Cloud

The developer of high-performance electric motors for the aviation industry and other sectors is optimizing its development projects with CIM Database Cloud.

eMoSys aims to digitize its business processes and projects using CONTACT's software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution to support its growth while ensuring consistent quality. Up until now, employees have stored files on servers and shared them via email. In the long run, this approach cannot meet the high standards needed for project and requirements management, as it lacks clarity about the version of a document, for example. Additionally, CAD data could not be managed in the context of projects using the previous solution.

As a first step, eMoSys began to manage projects and documents with CONTACT Software's CIM Database Cloud. The SaaS solution makes it easier to find documents and shows employees the current status. Just two months later, the company added requirements management and universal classification. Thanks to its use in the cloud, the company benefits from high data security and availability without the need to invest in its own servers.

The software provider impressed with its modular system and interfaces to third-party systems such as ERP or Microsoft Office applications. “The step-by-step approach is a huge advantage for us,” says Stephan Eck, CEO of eMoSys. “It allows us get started quickly with initial applications and expand our new system flexibly.”

In the future, eMoSys also plans to manage CAD and simulation data in CIM Database. The ability to expand the solution towards PLM allowed CONTACT to prevail over purely project management tools in the selection process.

eMoSys develops innovative electric drives as well as power and control electronics for customers in the aviation, automotive, motorsport, rail, and medical sectors. Based in Starnberg, Bavaria, the company has been a subsidiary of MTU Aero Engines AG since April 2023.
